The Federal Government is seeking ways to improve efficiency in the
operations of public hospitals and re-equip them to save foreign exchange drain
arising from medical tourism.
The Minister of State for Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, made the statement
at a news briefing to commemorate the ”5th World Universal Health Coverage
Day,” in Abuja on Wednesday.
Ehanire noted the theme for the commemoration, ”Unite for universal
health coverage” and slogan, ”Now is the time for collective
action.’’
He said that the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) and its partners had
developed an operational platform for ensuring that every citizen had access to
affordable and comprehensive care in a timely manner.
